“Our hope is if you have the desire to recover,
you won’t be limited by financial status or access to care.”
~ Dr. Patrick Green and CEO, Nate Green
The Tooele Methadone Treatment facility is the result of a collaborative assessment by Bonneville Family Practice, Tooele County, Utah State University and based on a study done by the University of Utah that was presented to the state legislature, showing that Tooele County was identified as severely needing access to care for substance abuse recovery. In fact, Tooele County was shown to have the highest need of all the counties in the state, with the least amount of viable and convenient options for treatment.
The treatment that was most noticeably missing in Tooele County was the use of methadone as part of a comprehensive Medical Assisted Treatment (MAT) program. Due to this lack of resources, Tooele County leadership and USU asked that Bonneville Family Practice, already one of the largest medical providers in the county, add Methadone to its treatment modalities.
Tooele Methadone Treatment is committed to providing an MAT program that is patient-centered, ethical and compassionate towards our community’s fight against the opioid crisis that our community and nation is facing. Under the leadership of Medical Director, Dr Patrick Green, and CEO, Nate Green, and working alongside their team of talented individuals operating under a united vision, the team aims to provide the highest level of compassionate care to any and all residents of Tooele County, regardless of the financial situation. With the mentality of ‘care for all’, it’s their hope that anyone seeking to change their lives through MAT recovery from addiction will have the opportunity and resources to do so.
Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) is an evidence-based approach to the treatment of substance use disorders, particularly that of opioid and alcohol abuse.
It involves the use of medications, in combination with counseling and behavioral therapies, to provide a comprehensive approach to recovery. The use of FDA-approved medications help individuals reduce or stop their substance abuse while managing withdrawal symptoms and cravings. Combined with counseling and behavioral therapies as part of a comprehensive treatment plan, our approach addresses both the physiological and psychological aspects of addiction, helping individuals achieve and maintain recovery.
